Project 111 Rio is our attempt to try to do something to marginally affect the gun violence in Rio de Janeiro. We are trying to transform 111 guns, roughly the number of people who are murdered in Brazil each day, into 111 watches. Our goal is to sell these watches for about $1110usd for a mechanical, $2701usd for a automatic or $3111usd our 9mm smart watch series). We will then use the money to try to do something positive for people who have been affected by gun violence in RJ, and to try to dissuade some at risk youth from becoming involved in gangs and drug activities in the first place. We don't assume that turning 111 illegal guns into watches is going to change the world, but if we change the direction of one person's life in a good way, we will have succeeded.

O Projeto 111 Rio é nossa tentativa de tentar fazer algo para afetar marginalmente a violência armada no Rio de Janeiro. Estamos tentando transformar 111 armas, aproximadamente o número de pessoas que são assassinadas diariamente no Brasil, em 111 relógios. Nosso objetivo é vender esses relógios por cerca de US$ 1.110,00 para um mecânico, US$ 2.701,00 para um automático ou US$ 3.111,00 nossa série de relógios inteligentes de 9 mm). Usaremos então o dinheiro para tentar fazer algo positivo pelas pessoas que foram afetadas pela violência armada no RJ e, em primeiro lugar, para tentar dissuadir alguns jovens em situação de risco de se envolverem em gangues e atividades com drogas. Não presumimos que transformar 111 armas ilegais em relógios vá mudar o mundo, mas se mudarmos o rumo da vida de uma pessoa no bom sentido, teremos tido sucesso.
